Parents of young children often wonder the best time to start lessons. Was asked Gabriela Sztein, Music School Director of our music school and piano teacher of over 30 years, for some advice.

Children as young as three are ready to be introduced to music lessons. While this introduction can require serious thought, registering your child in a class taught by a professionally trained teacher and with the appropriate methodology will offer the most positive experience.

There are many reasons to register your child in a music program, but we know how important it is to choose the right one. Here are three points to think about when considering the Yamaha Junior Music Courses:

1)             These courses are designed specifically for a particular age group. This method concentrates on nurturing the willingness and ability to listen, sing and perform music and thus, to develop the foundation for sensitivity to music. Children will experience singing, playing, rhythm development, ensemble playing, creativity and much more.

2)             This method is based on offering your child the best opportunity to develop basic music skills through the three essential elements: pitch, harmony, and rhythm.

3)             Group classes put children at ease. Being among peers makes learning fun, provides motivation and builds confidence. Group learning is peer pleasure!
