Young Chang has a rich history dating back to 1956, when the company was founded in South Korea by three brothers. Initially a distributor and assembly partner for Yamaha, Young Chang eventually developed its own manufacturing expertise and became one of the world’s largest piano producers. By the late 1970s, Young Chang pianos were being exported internationally and earned a reputation for offering excellent quality and value.
In 1995, renowned piano engineer Joseph Pramberger joined Young Chang after a distinguished career with Steinway & Sons, where he served as Vice President of Manufacturing. His innovations in piano design led to the development of the Pramberger Series, a premium line that incorporated many of his engineering concepts and elevated the performance of Young Chang instruments.
