Built in Korea in 1991. Samick opened its Indonesian plant in 1992, and most used JS-042s on the market today came from there. This one predates the move.
The scale design is by Klaus Fenner, the German designer Samick contracted for its upright line. Other specs: 15-ply laminated maple pinblock, German Röslau strings, nickel-plated tuning pins, all-maple action on an aluminum rail, hard rock maple bridges, laminated spruce soundboard, four laminated hardwood backposts. The keys are full length, which gives more consistent leverage across the keyboard than the shortened keys found in cheaper consoles.
